Rules before you rig
Check current fishing regulations, license and trout-permit requirements, special areas, seasonal closures and tackle restrictions for your exact location. Follow posted signs and current agency rules.
Use the official map to locate access points, then confirm parking, opening hours, closures and property boundaries before travel. A map marker is not permission to cross private land or a promise that a ramp is usable.
Choose the applicable day and find Greers Ferry. Check the schedule date and its time convention. Scheduled megawatts describe planned generation, not water depth or a safe wading window at your access.
Use the Little Rock District water-management site for Greers Ferry observations and release information. Check observation timestamps and units. Read the Corps' water-safety guidance before heading out.
Agency pages may change or be temporarily unavailable. If a link fails, visit that agency's main site or contact it directly. Do not substitute an old screenshot or a printed limit for current regulations.
Before you go
Confirm the rules for your stretch of river, including any current emergency orders. Older news articles may describe rules that have since changed.
Check weather, water observations, release information and your access point again on arrival. Identify a clear exit before approaching the water.
Wear an appropriate, properly fitted life jacket near or on the water. Choose a bank-based outing or postpone the trip when conditions exceed your experience.
Tell someone where you plan to go and when you expect to return. Save the official links before leaving reliable service; saved information can become outdated.
These are general planning suggestions, not a prediction of catches, current river conditions or a guarantee of safe access.
Updates & corrections
This resource page is maintained separately from any printed guide. Its review date describes editorial work, not the freshness of river observations. The agencies remain the authority for their rules, notices and operational information.
